The organic potting mix we use is loaded with nutrients, but every time the planter is watered those nutrients dissolve and slowly leach out of the soil. Begin applying plant food starting about 4-6 weeks after your seasonal delivery or installation. Then apply every 2 weeks in spring, summer and fall.

You can apply Necessary Nutrients by sprinkling directly over the soil or you can mix it with water and apply it as a liquid application. Here are our recommended rates:
- For 10-12" pots apply 2 tsp / application / per planter (1 bag = 15 applications)
- For 13-15" pots apply 3 tsp / application / per planter (1 bag = 10 applications)
- For 15-18" pots apply 4 tsp / application / per planter (1 bag = 7 applications)
- For 18-24" pots apply 6 tsp / application / per planter (1 bag = 5 applications)
